TMC Adaptations was started by Tonya Cooley who is also a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. In the job of being a therapist, she was always making things for children and their parents to make their lives a little easier, and to solve life's little problems. It was a natural extension to start a company that brings those little solutions to more people. The idea behind the magnet calendar was started when home on maternity leave with her second child, and her first child, Megan was going to preschool two days a week and home the rest of the time. Megan kept asking "what are we doing today?" because at three and a half years old she was not able to know which days she stayed home, or which days she went to school. Tonya created the first fridge magnet calendar using torn out calendar pages, stickers, and sticky magnet sheets and spent hours cutting out each sticker.
